Laboratory power supplies

General information

Laboratory power supplies (LPS) belong to the category of basic devices that are very widely used: from a research or metrology laboratory to powerful automated systems in production. Laboratory power supplies are used in the development of electronic equipment, scientific research, final control, in the production of power equipment and in uninterruptible power supply systems. LPSs are also used in some areas of medicine, mechanical engineering and robotics. Our site will help you not only buy a good laboratory power supply, but also become an expert in the types and characteristics of LPS.

Additional equipment

In addition to the main list of laboratory power supplies presented above, the following additional series are produced: bipolar ITECH IT6412, three-channel ITECH IT6300B, powerful (up to 30 kW) ITECH IT6500 and super powerful (up to 144 kW) ITECH IT6000C.

When working with power electronics and similar equipment, it is often necessary to accurately measure electrical energy and power. The ITECH IT9121 reference meter can be used to solve this problem. If you need to test batteries and galvanic cells, then use the special ITECH IT5100 testers.

In a separate large section, all laboratory sources of alternating voltage and current are collected.

Video reviews

Better to see once than hear a hundred times. This video collection from our YouTube channel is devoted exclusively to power supply: laboratory sources and power supplies, meters and analyzers of electrical power and energy, their application features, measurement standards and methods. The collection is just getting started. New interesting videos on power supply and related topics will be constantly added to it. Basic theory

Buying an inexpensive and high-quality laboratory power supply (LPS) is not always easy. When choosing a LPS model, in addition to the standard parameters: voltage, current, power and number of channels, additional aspects must be taken into account: noise and ripple of the power supply, current-voltage characteristic (rectangular, dual-range, automatically variable), built-in overload protection (overcurrent, overvoltage, overpower, overheating, etc.), the presence of voltage drop compensation in the connection wires, the possibility and convenience of programming, built-in digital interfaces, a set of additional functions, the operating temperature range, the quality and durability of the LPS, the reputation of the manufacturer, the professionalism and reliability of the supplier, the availability of a service center, warranty period and much more.

These articles and the following Documentation section contain useful information on the theory and practice of using laboratory power supplies, which will help you understand this issue and improve your professional level. For complex and incomprehensible moments, write to us by e-mail or call, we will be happy to advise.
