The Keithley DMM6500 multimeter is a versatile laboratory instrument that measures all major quantities: DC and AC voltage and current, resistance (2-wire and 4-wire), capacitance, period, frequency, temperature (using thermocouples, thermistors and RTDs). ). All types of measurements are performed with high accuracy and convenience. It also provides diode testing and digitization of voltage and current signals with 16-bit resolution and rates from 1 kSa/s to 1 MSa/s.

The Keithley DMM6500 multimeter contains a built-in 16-bit ADC digitizer

With the Keithley DMM6500 multimeter, it is very easy to digitize and process voltage and current signals (both DC and AC). The built-in digitizer is built on the basis of a 16-bit ADC with a variable sampling rate from 1 ksa/s to 1 Msa/s. The size of the multimeter's standard memory buffer can hold up to 7,000,000 digitization results. To ensure excellent accuracy and dynamic measurement range, the digitizer uses the same voltage and current sub-ranges as the main multimeter unit.

The built-in digitizer of the Keithley DMM6500 multimeter does not just replace the function of a storage oscilloscope, but allows you to obtain waveforms that are very difficult or impossible to obtain with an oscilloscope: low voltages and currents, signals from sources with high output impedance, etc. In this screenshot of the Keithley DMM6500 screen shows a digitized current signal with a large number of transients. One of the advantages of the Keithley DMM6500 multimeter is the 12.7 cm widescreen touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Touch controls and a well-thought-out menu system speed up and simplify work, and a large number of points allows you to see all the details of the signal.

The rear panel of the Keithley DMM6500 multimeter contains jacks for connecting measured signals, duplicating similar jacks on the front panel. This is convenient when mounting the multimeter in a rack. The switch for selecting the active socket group (front/rear) is located on the front panel of the instrument.

Also on the rear panel are Ethernet / LXI and USB interfaces designed to integrate the multimeter into automated systems controlled by a computer. In the upper left part of the rear panel there is a "COMMUNICATION ACCESSORY" slot covered with a plug, in which you can install an additional board that adds one of the interfaces: IEEE-488.2 (GPIB), RS-232 or TSP-Link.

In the central part of the rear panel there is a slot "ACCESSORY CARD SLOT" closed by a plug, in which you can install an additional scanner board for 10 channels of voltage or resistance (option 2000-SCAN) or an additional scanner board for 9 temperature sensors (option 2001-TCSCAN).
