Unique approach to EDFA testing and peak elimination
The unique technology used in the FTB-5500B allows the use of known auto- and cross-correlations, making it possible to use a source with any spectrum shape. Thus, the elimination of the auto-correlation peak makes it possible to obtain even greater accuracy and resolution in measurements. It becomes possible to measure PMD with a value of 0 ps. Moreover, the signal transmitted through the Erbium Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA) can also be analyzed, allowing the PMD of the entire link to be measured. Calibration is traceable according to the requirements of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
