Anritsu S3xxE series of antenna and spectrum analyzers up to 6 GHz

Anritsu S3xxE series of antenna and spectrum analyzers up to 6 GHz

Brief description of the series

Anritsu S3xxE Site Master is a well-proven series of portable antenna analyzers, spectrum analyzers, AFDs (antenna-feeder devices) and SWR meters from the Japanese company Anritsu. The Anritsu S3xxE series replaced the Site Master S331D and S332D analyzers. The new series of analyzers retains all the strengths of their predecessors: ease of use, accuracy, reliability and user-friendly interface.

The new Anritsu S331E, S332E, S361E and S362E analyzers feature improved parameters and capabilities, as well as an expanded set of functions. Models S331E and S361E contain only the AFU analyzer, while models S332E and S362E additionally contain a spectrum analyzer. In addition, each model can be equipped with a large number of options that expand the basic functionality of the devices. A complete description of all characteristics of Anritsu S3xxE analyzers can be downloaded below on this page in the Documentation section.

Antenna analyzer

The Anritsu S331E, S332E, S361E and S362E analyzers contain the industry's best antenna-feeder device parameters meter, which can measure in severe weather and with high accuracy: SWR (standing wave ratio), return loss (return loss), distance to fault (by SWR and return loss), cable loss and also show Smith chart.

It is possible to simultaneously measure several parameters. For example, this screenshot shows the result of measuring return loss (top graph) and distance to cable damage (bottom graph). The results are displayed on a large, clear screen.

Spectrum analyzer

Anritsu S332E and S362E devices, in addition to the AFD analyzer, also contain a built-in spectrum analyzer, which is specially designed for accurate measurements on real objects (outdoors and indoors) in a wide temperature range: from -10°С to +55°С. Standard spectrum analyzer measurements include: field strength, channel power, occupied bandwidth, adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR), carrier-to-interference ratio (C/I), AM/FM/SSB demodulation and others.

Additional options for the spectrum analyzer can be installed: channel scanner, analysis of non-stationary signals and interference, mapping coverage areas and others. As an example, this screenshot shows an example spectrogram measured with an Anritsu S332E and S362E. The main signal is marked with a marker, the weaker signal is marked with a delta marker, which shows the difference in frequency and power (3,000 MHz and -30.18 dB) in relation to the main signal.

Power measurement

Additional option 0019, which can be installed on Anritsu S3xxE series analyzers, adds the ability to accurately measure microwave power of modulated and unmodulated signals using external sensors that connect to the analyzer's USB port. To work with this option, you need one of the sensors: PSN50 (the cheapest), MA24105A (throughput power up to 150 W), MA24106A, MA24108A, MA24118A or MA24126A.

The frequency range, measurement accuracy and type of measured power (average, peak, absorbed or transmitted) depend on the sensor model. The accuracy of these sensors averages 0.16 dB (about 3%). You can find detailed information about sensors in the section of our website: Microwave wattmeters, voltmeters and microwave power sensors. Brief information is given below.

Standard sensors with 100 Hz video bandwidth:
- RMS sensor for microwave power Anritsu PSN50 (50 MHz – 6 GHz, -30 dBm to +20 dBm);
- USB sensor for pass-through peak microwave power Anritsu MA24105A (350 MHz – 4 GHz, up to +52 dBm (150 W));
- USB RMS sensor for microwave power Anritsu MA24106A (50 MHz – 6 GHz, -40 dBm to +23 dBm).

Fast sensors with 50 kHz video bandwidth:
- USB RMS sensor for microwave power Anritsu MA24108A (10 MHz – 8 GHz, -40 dBm to +20 dBm);
- USB RMS sensor for microwave power Anritsu MA24118A (10 MHz – 18 GHz, -40 dBm to +20 dBm);
- USB RMS sensor for microwave power Anritsu MA24126A (10 MHz – 26 GHz, -40 dBm to +20 dBm).

In addition, when measuring high levels of microwave power, you may need attenuators, which can be selected in the section of our website: Microwave accessories. If there are unwanted frequency components in the input signal, they can be suppressed with narrow-band filters, which can also be selected in the section of our website: Microwave accessories. For less accurate power measurements without the use of external sensors, you can use option 0029, which can only be installed on the S332E and S362E models.
