SHORT DESCRIPTION
ITECH's IT8900 Powerful DC Electronic Load Series, along with all the standard features, provides a wide range of innovative features that speed up and simplify the process of testing various devices. Depending on the model, electronic load series ITECH IT8900 provide three voltage ranges: 150 V, 600 V and 1200 V. The maximum current can reach 2500 A, and the maximum power dissipation ranges from 12 kW to 45 kW. By connecting several loads in parallel in a master-slave arrangement, the power can be increased up to 600kW while the entire system is controlled as a single unit.
High-speed rise and fall measurements (up to 50,000 measurements per second), six operating modes, transient over-load capability, and many other features make the IT8900 series a very effective solution for testing a variety of high-power devices. You can download a full description of all the characteristics below on this page in the section Documentation.

Typical Applications for ITECH IT8900 High Power Electronic Loads
For ITECH IT8900 series electronic loads there are many applications: checking power generators, uninterruptible power systems, electric vehicle charging stations, primary and secondary power supplies of various types, and others. Any industrial application that needs to test power systems with real load emulation can use the ITECH IT8900 series electronic loads as an optimal solution.
Double power reserve for short-term overloads
Many types of power supplies have starting voltages and currents that are much higher than the nominal ones. A classic example is the car's alternator, which briefly generates an increased voltage when the engine is started. Usually, when testing such sources, it is necessary to select an electronic load with more power than necessary. If this is not done, the load protection will regularly operate against transients. This approach significantly increases the cost of the entire test bench due to excessive power redundancy.
To eliminate this problem and reduce the cost, the ITECH IT8900 series electronic loads are designed to withstand short-term overloads by power. This is a very useful feature that significantly increases the scope of this series.
Design of ITECH IT8900 Series Electronic Loads
Each model of the IT8900 series consists of several power modules and one control module, mounted together in a mobile industrial rack. The size of the rack directly depends on the maximum power dissipation, which, depending on the model, can range from 12 to 45 kW. In this case, the height of the rack is in the range from 15U to 37U. The photo below shows several design options for ITECH IT8900 series electronic loads. The more powerful the model, the greater the mass and dimensions of its body. You can download the exact dimensions of all models of the IT8900 series below on this page in the section Documentation.
