Anritsu MS2720T handheld spectrum analyzer series up to 43 GHz

Brief description of the series

Spectrum and signal analyzers Anritsu Spectrum Master MS2720T is a series of high-performance portable analyzers, which consists of five models with different upper frequency ranges: from 9 GHz to 43 GHz. The two older models in this series (MS2720T-0732 and MS2720T-0743) were the world's first handheld spectrum analyzers with 32 GHz and 43 GHz bands.

All MS2720T series devices offer the highest possible functionality and excellent accuracy parameters. Everything professionals need in one compact, portable device! A complete description of all the characteristics of these analyzers can be downloaded below on this page in the Documentation section.

In addition, Anritsu launches an economical range of handheld spectrum and signal analyzers: MS2712E (up to 4 GHz) and MS2713E (up to 6 GHz). This series is simpler than the MS2720T in terms of technical characteristics and lower in the frequency range (up to 6 GHz), but it is much cheaper and provides a good set of capabilities for making measurements in the most saturated part of the radio resource.

Large, clear display

The Anritsu MS2720T series spectrum and signal analyzers are equipped with a high-quality 21.3 cm touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 600 dots. All basic analyzer settings are permanently displayed on the main screen, reducing the need to use additional menus. The spectrogram is also displayed very clearly and in detail. When developing these analyzers, special attention was paid to comfortable operation of the device in real field conditions: in bright sunlight, as well as in places with poor lighting.

Signal analysis

With the appropriate options installed, all MS2720T series instruments can perform demodulation and comprehensive quality analysis of most of today's wireless communications standards: GSM/GPRS/EDGE, W-CDMA/HSPA+, LTE/LTE-A FDD/TDD, CDMA/EV-DO, WiMAX Fixed/Mobile, TD-SCDMA/HSPA+, etc.

The picture below shows one of the LTE signal quality parameters (power/resource block). A high level of resource block usage indicates that the cell load is approaching its maximum values and may need to be expanded in the near future.

Interference analysis

With option 0025, spectrum analyzers of the Anritsu MS2720T series add a number of useful features: time-frequency diagram mode (used to detect non-stationary signals and rare interference, as well as instability of signal sources in frequency), direction finder mode with the formation of an audio signal, the tone of which depends on radio signal power, measurement of signal strength at a given frequency (RSSI), automatic determination of the signal type (GSM, CDMA, etc.) on the spectrogram (Signal ID mode).

Remote control

The Anritsu MS2720T Spectrum Analyzers provide four main features for automating your work: Free control software Master Software Tools, scripting tool Script Master, remote control via web interface Web Remote Tools and writing your own programs based on the command standard SCPI. Using these tools, you can embed the Anritsu MS2720T into any automated complex, as well as flexibly implement remote control of this device.

Application Master Software Tools (MST) is a powerful measurement processing software tool designed to increase the productivity of technical staff in reporting, analyzing data and automating the testing process. Every Anritsu MS2720T comes standard with this software.

Script Writer Script Master is an automation tool that allows you to embed an operator-designed test procedure into the Spectrum Master. This function is available in GSM, W-CDMA/HSPA+ and Channel Scanner measurement modes.

Remote Management Web Interface Web Remote Tools allows you to control measuring instruments via an Ethernet channel from any Internet-connected device, be it laptops, tablets or smartphones. Thanks to Web Remote Tools, engineers will have more options for taking measurements on objects. In addition, it will be much faster and more cost-effective to monitor the RF spectrum, as well as test remote radio units (RRH) and other hard-to-reach 3G and 4G base station nodes.

Design features

All connection connectors in the MS2720T series are located in the upper part of the instrument case. This is very convenient when working on a real object. At the same time, the connected cables do not interfere with the operator. The 9 GHz, 13 GHz, and 20 GHz models use a standard N-type (female) input connector. The 32 GHz and 43 GHz models use a reinforced K-type HF input connector.
