Brief description of the series

The Anritsu MA241xxA series of USB power sensors is designed to measure the power of RF and microwave signals in the frequency range from 10 MHz to 26 GHz with a dynamic range of more than 60 dB. The sensors use a special architecture that provides accurate RMS power measurement (similar to thermal sensors) for both continuous wave (CW) signals and analog or digitally modulated signals. All calibration coefficients, as well as linearity and temperature corrections, are stored inside the sensors, which ensures their complete autonomy and long-term stability of measurement results.

The Anritsu MA241xxA series includes 3 models of sensors with a frequency range of 10 MHz – 8 GHz, 10 MHz – 18 GHz and 10 MHz – 26 GHz. Using the USB interface, the sensors can be connected either to Anritsu analyzers or to a computer. When connected to a computer, their operation is controlled using the powerful PowerXpert software, which is included in the delivery set. For detailed differences between the series models, see the interactive table. A full description of all the characteristics can be downloaded below on this page in the Documentation section.

Software PowerXpert

Each MA241xxA series sensor comes with powerful Anritsu PowerXpert software, which is used to control the sensor and process measurement results. The compatible operating system is Windows, and the USB 2.0 interface is used to exchange data with a computer.

Anritsu PowerXpert software makes it easy to take measurements, view and process results, and save them for future use. The program has three main modes (Continuous, Time Slot and Scope) and many additional settings: various averaging parameters, trigger configuration and more.

Connecting to Anritsu analyzers

The MA241xxA series sensors can be connected to the USB port of Anritsu portable analyzers. In this case, the analyzer is used to control the sensor, and the power measurement results and related information are displayed on its screen. For this connection to function, the analyzer must have option 0019 (high accuracy power meter) installed. An example of the MA24126A power sensor operating together with the Anritsu MS2080A series portable analyzer is shown in this photo.
