MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
The EXFO FLS-600 Optical Light Source is part of the EXFO handheld instrument range, which includes: Universal optical power meter EXFO FPM-600 and Universal optical tester EXFO FOT-600.
You can choose a source from the following models: laser, diode or VCSEL, as well as from various wavelengths. What's more, you can save time by creating a list of favorite wavelengths and only switching between them when testing.
The EXFO FLS600 optical light source can transmit a special encrypted digital identifier along with the light, so any compatible unit, such as another 600 or 300 series instrument, FOT-930 MaxTester or the FTB-3930 Multitest module can automatically detect the wavelength being used and switch to the correct calibration parameters to avoid test errors. The encrypted signal can also convey information to the receiving end about the power level being used as a reference value, which helps to efficiently set the reference power even when the two instruments are separated.

EXFO's FLS-600 Optical Light Source allows testing passive optical networks (PONs) at 1310nm, 1490nm and 1550nm, the three wavelengths recommended by ITU-T (G.983.3) for PON.
Like all EXFO portable instruments, the FLS-600 is built with a lot of durability in mind, making it ideal for tough environments. The device also has a built-in screen and keyboard backlight, which makes it easier to work in low light conditions.
