SHORT DESCRIPTION

Selective RF Power Analyzer Anritsu Power Master MA24507A is a new generation compact device powered by USB. It allows you to perform power measurements over a wide range of frequencies (9 kHz - 70 GHz) and amplitudes (-90 dBm to +15 dBm). But its most important difference from traditional microwave power sensors is the ability to perform measurements in a given frequency range. For example, you can measure the power of a channel with a center frequency of 40 GHz and a width of 100 MHz.

Thus, the Anritsu MA24507A power analyzer occupies an intermediate position between full-fledged spectrum analyzers and the limited functionality of conventional power sensors. You can download a full description of all the characteristics below on this page in the section Documentation.

Main characteristics:
Frequency: 9 kHz - 70 GHz.
Dynamic Range: -90 dBm to +15 dBm.
Amplitude Accuracy: ±1 dB (typical), ±2 dB (maximum at 70 GHz).
Arbitrary choice of center frequency and channel width. Up to 6 channels simultaneously.
Power peak search mode. Adjustable measurement speed.
Connector: V(m). Weight: 0.28 kg. Dimensions: 155 x 84 x 27 mm.
Broadband power analyzer with unique features

Anritsu PowerXpert Software

The Anritsu MA24507A power analyzer is powered and controlled via a standard USB 3.0 computer interface. A control program called Anritsu PowerXpert, is included in the standard scope of delivery of the instrument. The PowerXpert program allows you to configure all the settings of the MA24507A meter: select the type of measurement to be performed, set the center frequency, channel width, search for up to 6 signal sources, and others. Once all settings have been made, PowerXpert can take measurements and process the results.

Three modes of operation of the Anritsu MA24507A power analyzer

This figure shows the main window of the Anritsu PowerXpert software that controls the operation of the Anritsu MA24507A Power Analyzer. The Anritsu MA24507A has three main operating modes: Continuous Mode, Power Hunter Mode and Channel Monitor Mode.

Continuous Mode is the main mode, which is activated immediately after starting the program. In this mode, the Anritsu MA24507A analyzer continuously measures power in the specified frequency range. For it to work, you must set the center frequency and the width of the frequency range. In this figure, the center frequency is 35 GHz and the measured bandwidth is 1 MHz. During the measurement, the screen displays a continuously updated power graph.

Power Hunter Mode means "Power Hunter". In this mode, the Anritsu MA24507A analyzer automatically searches up to 6 sources in the frequency range you specify and measures the frequency and amplitude of each found source. This mode is useful when the signal frequencies are not exactly known.

Channel Monitor Mode allows you to set up to 6 different frequencies and simultaneously measure the power of sources at all these frequencies. This mode is useful if the signal frequencies are known in advance, or if they were determined in Power Hunter Mode.

Video review-presentation of the Anritsu MA24507A power analyzer

The new Anritsu MA24507A Power Analyzer was first introduced at EuMW 2016, held in London in October 2016. In this video presentation, Dave Bolan talks about the new product right at the Anritsu booth. After watching this video, you will see an example of a 1 GHz test signal measurement, which is performed by a classic spectrum analyzer and in parallel by an Anritsu MA24507A power analyzer. The video also shows the operation of the Anritsu PowerXpert control program.
