To service fiber optic communication lines, in addition to optical time domain reflectometers are used: optical loss testers, fiber inspection probes, optical spectrum analyzers, modular test platforms, fiber optic fusion splicers and other equipment.

EXFO FTBx-740C – OTDR modules for CWDM and DWDM

EXFO FTBx-740C series OTDR modules — A series of optical time domain reflectometer modules for CWDM and DWDM.

The EXFO FTBx-740C series are OTDR modules for testing CWDM and DWDM systems. The EXFO FTBx-740C-CW10 module operates at ten CWDM wavelengths in the range from 1430 to 1610 nm. The EXFO FTBx-740C-CW18 module operates at eighteen CWDM wavelengths in the range from 1270 to 1610 nm. And the EXFO FTBx-740C-DWC module operates at fifty-one DWDM (C-band) wavelengths in the range from 1528 to 1568 nm. The modules are compatible with the EXFO FTB-1v2 Pro, EXFO FTB-2 Pro and EXFO FTB-4 Pro measurement platforms.

The EXFO FTBx-740C series modules enable complete end-to-end testing of commercial services, C-RAN networks and Metro Ethernet networks containing optical WDM multiplexers, WDM demultiplexers and optical add-drop modules (OADM).

EXFO AXS-100 – compact OTDRs

OTDRs of EXFO AXS-100 series — EXFO AXS-100 series of compact optical time domain reflectometers.

The EXFO AXS-100 series are compact reflectometers with excellent performance for all types of single-mode optical networks. They boast high accuracy, reliability, and stability in harsh environments. The series includes models with a dynamic range from 35 to 42 dB for measurements on both passive and active fiber. All models feature a 101 mm touchscreen with a resolution of 480 × 800 pixels, while the housing is only 48 mm thick and weighs 0.5 kg. The built-in battery lasts for 10 hours of autonomous operation.

The EXFO AXS-100 series reflectometers have an input connector made in the form of a small replaceable module. This allows it to be easily replaced in case of damage or severe wear. In this case, there is no need to send the reflectometer to a service center. The replaceable module is available in two types: GP-2312 (single-mode, UPC straight polishing) and GP-2311 (single-mode, APC angle polishing).
