EXFO's FOT-300 Optical Loss Tester, part of a new line of handheld instruments, is the only instrument of its kind that performs all the essential functions of an optical loss tester while delivering unrivaled cost and performance.

The FOT300's built-in light source can transmit a special encrypted digital identifier along with the light, which allows any compatible Power meter FPM-300 and the FOT-300 receiver will automatically use the correct calibration parameters. This feature eliminates the need for communication between the two measuring technicians and reduces the possibility of error.

Signal encryption can also be used to transmit power information as a reference to the receiving end, making the reference setting process more efficient even when the two instruments are far apart.

Due to its unique design, the EXFO FOT-300 Optical Loss Tester reduces measurement time in standard situations, as there is no need for a reset procedure.

EXFO FOT-300 Ready for FTTx

The EXFO FOT-300 optical loss tester allows you to test passive optical networks (PONs) at 1310 nm, 1490 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths, i.e. three wavelengths recommended by ITU-T (G.983.3) for PON.
