Versatile programmable electronic load with powerful functionality
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
Series of electronic loads ITECH IT8500+ is a group of 9 universal devices for static and dynamic testing of power supplies, batteries, accumulators, DC-DC converters, chargers and other similar equipment. Different models of this series differ in the maximum allowable voltage, current and power dissipation. For maximum versatility, there are three operating modes available: manual operation, automatic setpoint list operation and fully automatic computer control. Below is a detailed description of the most interesting features of this series of electronic loads.
Four basic operating modes of ITECH IT8500+ series electronic loads: CV, CC, CR, CP
The main task of any electronic load is to simulate the operation of a real load. You can perform this task in various ways:
CV (Constant Voltage) mode - in this mode, the electronic load of the IT8500+ series will dynamically change its current consumption so that the voltage at the output of the device under test remains at the specified level.
CC (Constant Current) mode - In this mode, the electronic load of the IT8500+ series will consume the current of the set value, regardless of the voltage applied to it.
CR mode (Constant Resistance - constant resistance) - in this mode, the IT8500+ series electronic load will consume more current at a higher input voltage, simulating the operation of a resistor of a given rating.
CP mode (Constant Power - constant power) - In this mode, the IT8500+ series electronic load will consume the specified power level. As the input voltage increases, the current consumption will decrease.
Additional operating modes of ITECH IT8500+ series electronic loads: constant switching between two values, pulse mode, one-time switching mode
To expand the scope of electronic loads of the ITECH IT8500+ series, in addition to standard operating modes (CV, CC, CR, CP), they also provide modes for automatically changing load parameters. The features of these modes of operation are shown graphically below.
Automatic operation mode by commands from the control file
ITECH IT8500+ series electronic loads can perform automatic mode change according to the command list, which is stored in the device memory as a control file. Each control file can contain up to 10 commands, and the total number of files can be up to 100.
Operating mode with setpoint list
The setpoint list mode of the ITECH IT8500+ series of electronic loads allows for the formation of complex sequences of current consumption changes. In addition, these changes can be of different duration and synchronized with an internal or external signal, which allows you to implement accurate and complex test sequences. The automatic setpoint list mode can contain up to 84 individual steps. An example of this mode of operation is shown graphically below.
The mode of checking the capacity of accumulators and batteries
This mode of operation, implemented in the ITECH IT8500+ series of electronic loads, is specifically designed to measure the capacity of batteries in Amp-hours. This measures the time during which the voltage on the battery drops to a predetermined value, after which the energy given out by the battery in Amp-hours is automatically calculated. An example of this mode of operation is shown graphically below.
Design of ITECH IT8500+ Series Electronic Loads
Models of the IT8500+ series with a maximum output power of 150 W and 300 W are housed in a compact 21.4 x 35.5 x 8.8 cm package. and mass. Below is a photo of the rear panel of the 150-watt IT8511+ as an example, as well as the front panels of the powerful models: IT8514C+ and IT8516C+. You can download the exact overall dimensions of all loads of the IT8500+ series below on this page in the section Documentation.
